I have always had a great love of the outdoors and hunting–especially duck hunting and archery hunting. With my knowledge of woodworking, I figured I could easily carve some hunting decoys for my personal use. In very short order I came to the conclusion that this endeavor was going to take some assistance!

Enter Caz Russel. Caz is an accomplished decoy carver residing in Montandon, PA. He most graciously invited me to his shop and began teaching me the techniques he uses to create fine gunning decoys. After several weeks of stealing time away from Caz whenever I could I learned the fundamentals and concepts that have lead me to where I am today. Thank you Caz for your guidance and friendship!

Since 2001 I have developed my own techniques and methods to create high-quality gunning decoys. I make decoys out of cork and hollow wood decoys out of cedar and pine. I have successfully competed in decoy competitions all across the United States and have been awarded Best of Show honors more than thirty times.

While winning contests is great fun, I gain the most satisfaction from pleasing the clients that purchase my decoys and other works of art!
