In 2007, the Ward Museum in conjunction with the National Endowment for the
Arts, held a program called "carving out future Mid-Atlantic Decoy Makers."
16 master carvers were enlisted to teach a group of 6 students each the art of
decoy carving. The carvings were then entered in the 2007 Chesapeake
Challenge held at the Ward Museum in October. Pictured left to right, John
Wallace, Marlin Johnson, Brandon Ulrich, Mr. Wood Wizard and Buck. Front
Row, Terese Kerstetter, Brenda Walter, and Clint Walter. As you can see,
all did a very good job!
