My hunt took place on St. Paul Island, Alaska. 500 miles off the western
coast of Alaska and 250 miles
North of the Aleutian Island chain, in the middle of the Bering Sea. It
was a 4 Day hunt that took two weeks to complete with all the travel and flight
cancellations we encountered. The hunt dates were January 15th thru the
18th 2006. The weather conditions were quite brutal from what we are
accustomed to here in Pa. We had 50 to 60 MPH winds the 1st two days, with
wind chills bottoming out at 45 to 50 Below Zero. 17 to 20 foot seas
accompanied the winds and Heavy Sea spray which covered the shoreline rocks and
made retrieving the birds quite a feat on day one and two. Days three and
four were a bit more bearable, with the winds laying down to a "wimpy" 25 to 30
MPH. Because our flight out was cancelled 3 Days in a row, we got some
additional hunting time which is when we used the decoy as the winds again
continued to diminish to about 5 to 10 MPH. This is when we had our best
success.

The Decoy performed
Flawlessly in every aspect of the word - Weight and balance equaled that of a
live bird as it rode over the endless waves. The paint scheme and
colorations duplicate the King Eiders feathering to a "T". Truly, a Great
Imposter! When the ducks decoyed, they did it without
hesitation. In
my opinion, when it comes to hand carved blocks, Wood Wizard Decoys are second
to None in Quality and Unmatched Realism. They are also Great for Home
Decoration! Jim, Thanks for your time and dedication
in creating the Finest Quality Decoy I have ever hunted over!
Sincerely,
